Appetizer “Sweet peppers in bacon. Appetizer of bell peppers in bacon Baked peppers with cottage cheese and blue cheese

The snack is simply unique. No matter how many snacks are on the table, no matter what kind of snack is present, the pepper in the bacon will run out first. This has been verified more than once. It's impossible to pass by these colorful cuties with cream cheese on the inside and a bacon coating on the outside. When the peppers cook in the oven, the smell of roasting peppers and bacon is just crazy. And as soon as the appetizer is ready and removed from the oven, there is a line of people wanting to try how successful the appetizer is :) At this moment you need to be extremely careful and drive away everyone who wants to, because the cheese inside is very hot, but even once this does not stop the victims...

Seeing the huge tray of appetizer for the first time, it seemed to me that it would take a lot of time to prepare this yummy dish. And filling peppercorns with cheese is an inconvenient and troublesome process. However, the result was definitely worth the effort, so there was no doubt whether to try it or not. But as it turned out, preparation does not take much time. And even a child can handle filling the peppercorns.

In this case, Philadelphia cream cheese is good on its own as a filling. But if you wish, you can add garlic or hot pepper pressed through a press to add some spice. But I don’t recommend replacing cheese with other varieties. The cheese will leak out, and the taste may not deteriorate from this, but the appearance definitely will.

Ingredients

sweet pepper – 10 pcs. (small)
Philadelphia cream cheese – 200 g
bacon – 100 g

Preparation

We select peppers of the same size. Cut the peppercorns in half, without cutting to the stem, and remove the seeds. Often small peppers have no seeds at all. But, as a rule, it is only a few grains.

The cheese must be taken out of the refrigerator about two hours beforehand so that it reaches room temperature. Using a teaspoon or knife, fill the pepper halves with cheese. Cut the bacon strips to the required length and wrap each peppercorn in bacon. Place the appetizer in a heatproof dish with the bacon joint facing down. No need to pre-lube.

You can pierce the junction of the bacon with a skewer, this will give you confidence that the bacon will not unravel in the oven, and it will also be more convenient to eat the snack later.

Please note that you should not place the peppers too close to each other, otherwise the bacon will not be baked at the joints. Place the appetizer in a preheated oven at 200 C (400 F) for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is cooked.

The “Sweet Peppers in Bacon” appetizer is good both hot and cold. But, after taking it out of the refrigerator, it is better to heat it in the oven or toaster.

Bon appetit!
