Having a Schengen visa is a prerequisite entry into the territory of the Czech Republic of Russian citizens. You can arrange it without any problems through a travel agency, respectively, for a fee. But there is another option - to apply for a visa to the Czech Republic on your own, thereby saving on the services of an intermediary.
It will not do without additional costs - you must pay a fee of 35 euros (70 euros - if urgent registration). If the application is submitted to the Visa Application Center, it is also necessary to pay 1000 rubles (payment for the services of the Czech Visa Application Center).
The processing time for a regular visa application is no more than 7 working days. If the visa application is urgent - 3 days. But there are also exceptions. If additional verification of the specified information is required, the period may be extended up to 30 calendar days.
The procedure for obtaining a visa to the Czech Republic
When applying for a visa on your own, it is obtained in several stages:

- Submission of documents and payment of the fee. In the event that a visa is issued at the Czech Embassy located in Moscow, a preliminary registration by phone is required.

To apply for a Schengen visa, the following documents are required:
- International passport - the original and a copy of the first page containing the personal data of the citizen. It is worth considering that it must be valid for at least another 3 months from the date of expiry of the visa. If children are entered in the passport, then a photocopy of the page with their photographs is additionally required.
- 2 photographs of the applicant measuring 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm, in accordance with the established requirements. Photos should be in color, on a white background, without any decorative elements.
- , filled with capital Latin letters with a photo pasted on. All information, including the signature of the applicant, must be completely identical to the data indicated in the passport. The application form and sample filling can be obtained free of charge from the consular department or downloaded from the corresponding website on the Internet.
- Photocopies of the pages of the Russian passport with a photograph and a note on registration.
- Document confirming financial security applicant: this can be a certificate from work on accrued income or a bank statement. The minimum amount that must be at the disposal of a citizen when crossing the border is about 54 euros (per day). For minors- half of this amount.
- Medical insurance for an insured amount of at least 30,000 euros. You can quickly register on the Internet.
- Documentary confirmation of the purpose of the trip. For example, if the purpose of your stay in the Czech Republic is tourism, then this confirmation can be a hotel reservation or an invitation from the person receiving the applicant.
- Printout confirming ticket booking.
- Visa fee - as mentioned above, it is 35 euros, for an urgent visa - 70 euros.

September 14, 2015 on the territory Russian Federation the universal system of biometric visas comes into force. Starting from this date, biometric data (10 fingerprints and digital photo) will be taken from each applicant. Only some categories of persons will be exempted from this procedure:
Children under the age of twelve;
Persons whose fingerprints are physically impossible and persons with disabilities;
High officials and heads of state or government, including their accompanying spouses, as well as members of official delegations when invited by heads of state or international organizations for the purpose of an official visit;
Holders of service or diplomatic passports who wish to obtain a long-term visa to take up office as part of a diplomatic mission, within an intergovernmental organization, or consular post, as well as members of their families who have service or diplomatic passports.
However, applicants who have already received a biometric visa will be able, if they so choose, to reapply with the help of a third party within 59 months after receiving a biometric visa marked “VIS”. The applicant's representative, which may be a travel agency, will be able to come with a simple handwritten power of attorney from the applicant (not certified by a notary), dated and signed, as well as a copy of his previous visa marked “VIS”.
All competent Czech visa centers will accept applicants or their representatives, including travel agencies.
Visa processing in Moscow - 80 euros, for a child under 6 years old - 40 euros (for regions: assistance in preparing visa documents - 15 euros)
Set of documents:

Children under 15 years old will be able to apply for a visa only with a passport, from the date of issue of which no more than 5 years have passed otherwise, there is no possibility of accepting documents by the visa center.
The Visa Application Center will not accept passports in which the page with the applicant's personal data is damaged (including if the lamination is removed).
2. Two color photographs for each tourist, for the last six months, including children entered in the parents' passport:
- size 3.5 x 4.5 cm, full face, matte color, on a white background, without corners, ovals, frames
- the minimum height of the head is 32mm, the maximum is 36mm, the distance from the crown of the head to the top edge of the photo is at least 2mm, from the face to the edge of the photo should remain approximately 5mm

Please take into account that the photographs must always match the actual appearance of the applicants. This is especially true for minor children.The photo of the child in the passport must correspond to the photo on the profile and the actual appearance of the child. If there is no such correspondence (for example: 1. there is a baby on the passport photo, and the photo of a seven-year-old child on the application form; 2. the child's photo on the application form and in the passport issued three years ago are identical), a request will be sent to the Consular Section about the possibility of accepting documents.

From the age of 14, children must have their own passports.

What documents are needed for a visa to the Czech Republic in 2020
So, you are going to make a visa to the Czech Republic on your own. The Russians need to collect standard package documents for Schengen:

Application form. There are 4 pages in total. Filled in capital letters in English. Can be filled in by hand (black or blue paste, no more than 4 corrections) or online and printed. Write without mistakes and only the truth. You can download the forms and samples of the questionnaire (consulate website) and (VFS website).
Confirmation of booking air or railway tickets in both directions. Internal crossings in Europe are not interesting to them - only entries and exits from Schengen. These prints of domestic tickets will be useful to you later, since some collective farm carriers such as Slovak Lines still require paper tickets. If you are traveling by car, you need driver's license, registration certificate, green card (international car insurance).
Proof of finance. Everything is simple here: account statement, certified by seal and signature... That is, a check from an ATM about the account balance will not work. The site says that it is desirable that the certificate reflects the movement of funds on the account for at least 3 months. We were told at the visa center that this is not necessary: it is enough to throw the required amount and bring a statement of the balance.
How much money do you need to have in the account? Depends on the number of days, calculate yourself - 1100 Czech crowns (or in another currency) for 1 day.
Exchange rate: 1 Czech crown (CZK) ≈ 2.8 RUB.
Alternative: certificate from the place of work (letterhead indicating wages) or certificates in the form 2-NDFL and 3-NDFL.
All certificates must be fresh, no older than 1 month. We took the account statement right before submitting the documents.
Visa fees- 35 euros. Service fee - 25 euros. Express clearance - 70 euros. Regional centers express don’t do. Children under 6 years old, as well as disabled people and 1 accompanying person do not pay consular and service fees.
Consent to the processing of personal data. DON'T FORGET to print and fill it out - no visa will be given without consent.
Documents required for minors
Above the listed documents are required to obtain a visa to the Czech Republic:
- Copy of birth certificate.
- Copy valid visa accompanying parent, if the visa is not issued at the same time as the parent.

What do you need to get a Schengen visa when planning a trip to the Czech Republic?

The EU standards approved the period for issuing Schengen visas up to 14 days, but this is if the consular employees did not have any additional questions and clarifications. If any, the time it takes to issue a visa may take even longer.

Rights granted by a Schengen visa
Regardless of which state has granted you a Schengen visa, you have the right to freely move around the Schengen area under this authorization document, if it is currently valid.
